Thursday 12 August- World Elephant Day 2021:The day is celebrated to recognise the importance of elephants in our ecosystem It also focuses on spreading awareness about their conversation and protection.

Maharaja Bagh Singh Karjali V.No. In 1811 (E. No. 1754-1755), made a significant contribution in making of Hasthyayurveda book immortal by getting a Sanskrit handwritten replica of Hasthyayurveda composed by Shri Palakapya Muni.

:
For the protection healing and study of elephant's disease Brahma ji, the creator of the universe, created Palakapya Muni, because he was born in the Kapya gotra and followed elephants, he was called Palakapya.

In Tretayuga, King Rompad of Angadesh had a friendly relationship with King Dasharatha. For this reason, King Dasharatha preached Hasthyayurveda to his daughter named Shanta, near the capital named Champanagari of Rompad.

In Hasthyayurveda, a detailed description has been given of the origin of elephants, disorders arising in them, causes of disorders, symptoms, nature of disease, methods of treatment, process of making medicines, age, nature and care of elephants.
Recently this was translated from sanskrit to Hindi language and published by Maharana Mewar Historical Publication Trust, Udaipur.
The script on ancient knowledge system have been preserved for future studies and research on elephants.

The Shah Jahan Dagger-{North India hilt: 1620-25: blade 1629-36} The hilt of this dagger represents a high point of Mughal jade carving. The distinctive treatment of boy's head is clearly influenced by European sculpture. It has been suggested that the curly headed figure may derive from depictions of cherubs or angels seen on number of allegorical paintings of Jahangir period. The blade is inscribed with Shah Jahan's title as well as with an umbrella and fish both symbol of kingship. Source: Treasures from the Al Thani collection.
