The evolution of Maya from Alias to Autodesk in my experience.
I was back then in school, It's still a good more than a year for the iPhone launch, the golden time of has almost ended, and my father just bought me a Pentium 4, 128mb ram, 80gb hdd system as I did good in my exams.
I was fascinated with probably my 1st exposer to 3d animation in The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest 's quest world, and then the series and another 3d car racing tournament show which I cannot remember the name, that shaped my passion as well as my career. Internet café was a very much a thing then when I had a tech savvy friend from whom I borrowed a copy of 3. That was my start. I was so fond of Maya I used to draw/tattooed the Alias Maya log everywhere. I bunked school to fiddle with it.
I used to go to the internet cafe and searched for tutorials(I still remember the very early Gnomon School of Visual Effects, Games + Animation tutorials of nurbs character ), and free models. English isn't my 1st language so I was not good at it then that's why I got to know about a Bengali book on Maya written by some Bangladeshi writer. I went out of my home town for the 1st time without telling my parents and bought the book with stolen money from my father's pocket 🤐 and kept the book hidden for long.
Letter I found out it was word to word translation of the actual may documentation. I won't say that the book helped me a lot but it was the start.
In that time I used Maya 3, 4 and 5 even though I knew nothing I was just fascinated just by building the Maya primitives, lights and tumbling the viewport.
Once I finished my high school I took admission in Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics for a diploma course and officially started my .I saw the change of maya from to Autodesk, Saw the rise of , Foundry Unreal Engine , saw the implementation of , , and now , and 👽 . I'm still fascinated and passionate about the craft today same as I was back then.
Here are the splash screen I am so fond of and used to see splashes on my screen through out these past years.... they were much more beautiful back then to be honest.
