I am an artist from Kerala whose creative journey is deeply influenced by the lived realities of marginalized communities. Coming from and living amidst society's lower strata, I use my art to express the struggles, hopes, and resilience of those oppressed by structures of caste, religion, and discrimination. These themes are not merely external observations but deeply personal reflections that shape and drive my practice.
Working primarily with mixed media, my sculptures merge diverse materials to capture the rawness and complexity of social injustice. This medium allows me to experiment with textures, contra and layers, mirroring the fragmented yet enduring lives of the people I aim to represent. My artistic process is a deeply emotional one, where feelings of anger, empathy, and hope are embedded into the very fabric of each work, transforming them into powerful symbols of resistance and dialogue. Caste-based discrimination stands as the central axis of my practice. India's pervasive caste system perpetuates inequality and violence, eroding the fundamental principles of human dignity.
Through my work, I aim to unravel these hidden structures of power, forcing viewers to confront uncomfortable truths. Elements such as unfinished edges, raw surfaces, and irregular forms signify the fractured but unbroken spirits of those subjugated by this system. My sculptures act as bridges that connect individual experiences with larger social narratives. They provide a space for questioning, reflection, and the envisioning of a world free from caste, color, and communal prejudice. I aspire for my art to move beyond being an aesthetic experience, becoming a voice for change and solidarity. My work seeks to foster empathy, spark critical conversations, and inspire a collective commitment to dismantling oppression and building a more inclusive, equitable society.
