My first post from my first Bharatanatyam foreign tour with my students_ 🌙✈️
_Pyaar ka pehela khat likhne mein waqt to lagta hai…_ and this post was no different.
I had butterflies the whole time — responsible for my 8 girls, though many are adults now. The organisers and artists were legends, yet they put us at ease instantly. Still, I was uneasy through the entire flight.
Until I looked out the window and saw the Moon.
Different countries, different faces… but the same Moon, the same sky.
After meeting our gracious hosts — Shri Rohit Dharde ji and the audience I remembered that Moon again.. Borders change. Warmth doesn’t.
The welcome was everything: accommodative smiles, supporting hands, encouraging applause, heartfelt compliments. All done with love — for the art, for the artists, for India.
Though they all are settled out of country, the efforts they are taking to preserve our culture is admirable.
Grateful beyond words for this journey and for my girls. This is just the beginning. 🙏🏽💫
