THUMBS DOWN TO INVASIVE ALIEN WEEDS! in NARAYANPET COLLECTORATE
A powerful Identification, Slogan & “Thumbs Down” Initiative on Invasive Alien Weeds was organised at the Narayanpet District Collectorate, bringing together district-level officials to raise awareness and encourage collective action against invasive alien weeds.
The initiative was led by Sri Sreenu, Additional Collector, Narayanpet, along with district officials and Heads of Departments, who actively participated in the “Thumbs Down to Invasive Alien Weeds” campaign.
We sincerely appreciate the support and encouragement extended by Ms. Priyanka, IAS, District Collector, Narayanpet, towards this important environmental initiative.
Representing ECO FAWN Society, Sai Sampath Mettu and Talari Vikram participated in the programme and called for coordinated efforts for the identification, removal and restoration of areas affected by invasive alien weeds.

THUMBS DOWN TO INVASIVE ALIEN WEEDS!

A powerful Awareness, Identification & Eradication Programme on Invasive Alien Weeds was organised in Rajanna Sircilla District collectorate, bringing together district administration, municipalities and field-level officials for a common cause—protecting our native biodiversity, soil, water and ecosystems.

Smt. Garima Agarwal, IAS, District Collector & District Magistrate, Rajanna Sircilla, joined the 👎 Thumbs Down Movement against invasive alien weeds.

The Additional Collectors, Municipal Commissioners of Sircilla & Vemulawada, district-level officials and Heads of Departments actively participated and extended their support by joining the movement.

Teaching, Learning & Protecting Nature!🌱

Teaching has always been an enriching and rewarding experience, especially when it comes to engaging young minds on the importance of protecting our environment.

ECO FAWN Society conducted an Awareness & Identification Programme on Invasive Alien Weeds at Government Polytechnic & ITI College, Sircilla.

Students actively participated in identifying invasive alien weeds and learned about their harmful impacts on biodiversity, native species, soil, water resources, agriculture and human well-being.

Today’s students are tomorrow’s environmental champions. By creating awareness among youth, we can build a stronger movement for Invasive Alien Weed-Free communities and restoration of native biodiversity.

Sircilla & Vemulawada Municipalities Rise with ECO FAWN Society Against Invasive Alien Weeds.

At 5:00 AM, an impactful Identification, Awareness & Orientation Programme on Invasive Alien Weeds was organised for sanitation workers and sanitation inspectors of Sircilla and Vemulawada Municipalities.
Municipal Chairpersons, Commissioners and Ward Officers enthusiastically joined the initiative, standing alongside sanitation teams in a united call to protect our biodiversity, soil, water and public health.
The programme included practical identification and awareness on invasive alien weeds, followed by the powerful "THUMBS DOWN to Invasive Alien Weeds” initiative and a collective pledge to make our municipalities Invasive Alien Weeds Free
When our sanitation warriors become environmental warriors, every street can become a step towards a healthier, greener Telangana!

🌿 Police Lead the Fight Against Invasive Alien Weeds in Rajanna Sircilla

A powerful Awareness, Identification & Eradication Programme on Invasive Alien Weeds was organised by ECO FAWN Society at the SP Headquarters, Rajanna Sircilla.

SP Mahesh B. Gite, Addl. SP, Dy. SPs, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, Constables and police staff actively participated in identifying and eradicating invasive alien weeds across the police headquarters.

🌱 Weed-free today. Native green tomorrow!
After removing the invasive weeds, the police premises were replanted with native tree species, turning eradication into ecological restoration.

District Collector Leads Invasive Alien Weeds Eradication Programme with ECO FAWN Society in Rajanna Sircilla District, Telangana

An Awareness, Identification and Eradication Programme on Invasive Alien Weeds was successfully organised by ECO FAWN Society at the Rajanna Sircilla District Collectorate. District Collector Ms. Garima Agarwal, along with Additional Collectors, Heads of Departments, district-level officials and staff, actively participated in the programme.

As part of the programme, the officials and staff identified and removed invasive alien weeds growing within the Collectorate premises. As a symbolic representation of the Invasive Alien Weeds Eradication Movement being undertaken by ECO FAWN Society, all participants displayed a special “Thumbs Down” gesture. The gesture symbolised their collective commitment to stopping the spread of invasive alien species, eradicating them and protecting native biodiversity.

Speaking on the occasion, ECO FAWN Society CEO Mettu Sai Sampath explained that invasive alien weeds are causing serious impacts on the environment, agriculture, biodiversity and rural livelihoods. He highlighted that these weeds can reduce crop yields, invade agricultural lands, cover water bodies, suppress the growth of native plant species in forests, damage biodiversity and increase the risk of forest fires. He emphasised the need for coordinated action by all government departments along with active public participation to effectively address this growing environmental challenge.

ECO FAWN Society State Coordinator Talari Vikram also participated.

District Collector Ms. Garima Agarwal** appreciated the initiative being undertaken by ECO FAWN Society to create awareness about the serious environmental threat posed by invasive alien weeds. She encouraged officials and staff to actively participate in such initiatives and contribute towards protecting local ecosystems while maintaining clean and weed-free government premises.

At the conclusion of the programme, the participating officials and staff took a collective pledge to continuously work towards the eradication of invasive alien weeds, protection of native biodiversity and creation of greater environmental awareness among the public.

🌿 **Medak Administration Takes a Stand Against Invasive Alien Weeds!** 🌿

A remarkable step towards protecting biodiversity was taken at the District Collectorate, Medak, where Ms. Pratima Singh, IAS, District Collector & District Magistrate, led an Awareness-cum-Invasive Alien Weeds Identification & Eradication Programme organized by ECO FAWN Society.

The programme witnessed the active participation of Sri M. Nagesh, Additional Collector, Sri Ambadas Rajeshwari Rao, District Revenue Officer, officials from DRDA, Women Development Department, and heads of various district departments, who joined hands in identifying and removing invasive alien weeds from the Collectorate premises.

ECO FAWN Society, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kamareddy, and with the support of Para-Legal Volunteers, conducted awareness and identification programmes on Invasive Alien Weeds (IAWs) across Bhiknoor, Adloor Yellareddy and Lingampet Mandals in Kamareddy district.
The programme was conducted under the Access to Justice for Victims of Human–Wildlife Conflict (HWC) Scheme, 2025, covering Bhiknoor, Kadloor, Yellareddy and Lingampet Mandals.
🌱 Villagers were educated on:
• Identification of invasive alien weeds
• Their impact on agriculture, biodiversity & livestock
• Importance of protecting native vegetation
• Community participation in eradication and habitat restoration
🤝 Awareness + Community Action = Healthy Ecosystems

Fighting Invasive Alien Weeds | Rama Reddy, Kamareddy 🌱

An Awareness & Identification Programme on Invasive Alien Weeds was conducted in Rama Reddy Mandal, Kamareddy District, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kamareddy.

Hon’ble Senior Civil Judge Ms. T. Nagarani, Secretary DLSA, Tehsildar, Rama Reddy, Sub-Inspector, RIs, VROs, Court staff and Para-Legal Volunteers participated in the programme.
