9th August: विश्व आदिवासी दिवस

जनजातियों को सम्मानित करने और उनके सामने आने वाली विशिष्ट चुनौतियों को पहचानने के लिए, आदिवासी दिवस (आदिवासी दिवस) 9 अगस्त को एक क्षेत्रीय सार्वजनिक अवकाश है, क्योंकि यह विश्व के स्वदेशी लोगों के संयुक्त राष्ट्र के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस की तारीख है।

9 अगस्त 1982 को संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ की पहल पर मूलनिवासियों का पहला सम्मेलन हुआ था। इसकी स्मृति में विश्व आदिवासी दिवस "Tribal day" मनाने की शुरुआत 1994 में कि गई थी ।
