A new Mobile Suit Gundam anime was announced today following the Gundam Showcase 2026 panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
A teaser trailer and visual for the project, titled Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO, were also released, alongside announcing a 2027 release.
Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) will direct and handle the series composition for Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO at SOLA ANIMATION, with Toh Enjoe as the setting supervisor, Gundam designs by Eiichi Shimizu, original character designs by STATO, character designs and animation direction by Miyako Takasu and music by Go Shiina. SUNRISE is also handling the planning alongside Bandai Namco Filmworks as a producer. ��Takeo Otsuka (Aqua Hoshino) will also voice the protagonist, Ray Azumi.��The story of RG XARX-ZERO is described as such:
