🇮🇳 Historic Moment for Assam: PM Modi to Land on Highway Airstrip on February 14
Assam is set to witness a landmark event on February 14 as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to land on a specially developed highway airstrip at Moran in Dibrugarh district. This will mark the first-ever landing of a Prime Minister on a highway-based emergency landing facility in Northeast India.
The 4.2-kilometre airstrip has been built on National Highway-37 (NH-2) and is designed for dual use — both for defence operations and emergency situations such as natural disasters. The project reflects India’s growing focus on strategic infrastructure and rapid response capabilities.
During the visit, Indian Air Force aircraft are also expected to demonstrate landing and takeoff operations on the highway strip, showcasing the preparedness and strength of India’s defence forces.
Apart from the historic landing, the Prime Minister is set to inaugurate and dedicate several major development projects across Assam, including key infrastructure initiatives aimed at boosting connectivity, education, and public transport in the state.
Security arrangements have been intensified, and preparations are in full swing to ensure the smooth ex*****on of this high-profile visit.
This event is not just a moment of pride for Assam but also a significant step forward in strengthening the region’s strategic and infrastructural capabilities.
