ho work tirelessly to create art filled with aestheticism engulfed in both traditional and contemporary ways of music. Nirantar is run by Shamik Chanda. Shamik is a Kathak performer and teacher who started his initial training under Guru Debotosh Nath in Silchar and later on did his advanced training as a student of Kathak Kendra, New Delhi under Pt. Krishan Mohan Misra and Guru Malti Shyam. He is the recipient of junior scholarship from Centre for Cultural Resource and Training (CCRT) and has performed extensively around India. Shamik is also the founder of a non governemental organisation called 'Umeedd A Better Tomorrow' working in Barak Valley to generate awareness on Child Sexual Abuse.
