A soulful and enriching conversation with Bozo , along with the CICADA team. Coming from a background in theatre practice and writing, Sunny shared insights drawn from years of working across themes of migration, caste identity, gender, and belonging.

A heartfelt thank you to Sunny for designing such an engaging and interactive session. Through conversations around memory, perspective, and storytelling, the session planted many new thoughts on how films are presented to audiences—and the small yet meaningful elements that can transform a screening into a more immersive and memorable experience.

CICADA Foundation honours the hands that build our future.
This Labour Day, we recognise every worker whose dedication powers our communities — from construction sites to classrooms, from agricultural fields to hospitals. Your labour builds dignity, hope, and progress.

At the same time, the conversation must continue — about fair wages, safe workplaces, and equal opportunities for all. Because dignity at work is not a privilege, it’s a right.

Happy Labour Day!

Cinema has the power to bridge distances, from the coast of Odisha to the classrooms of Seoni !!!!

CICADA Foundation hosted a special screening of "Bipro: A Conservation Legacy in the Making" along with the filmmaker Ishwar Shaw for the bright young minds of classes 7 and 8 at Mount Litera Zee School, Seoni.

For many students, this was their first deep dive into the world of marine life. Watching the story of turtle conservation at Rushikulya sparked more than just interest, it ignited a conversation. From generational knowledge to the future of our oceans, the post screening Q&A session with the director of the film proved that when storytelling meets curiosity, conservation becomes personal.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. When we connect young hearts to nature, we aren’t just sharing a film; we’re planting seeds for a greener future.

A seven-day photography workshop, organized in collaboration with CICADA and the People’s Photographers Collective, brought together 10 selected tribal youth from Seoni district for an immersive learning experience. Led by M. Palani Kumar, the workshop focused on building photography skills while encouraging participants to observe their surroundings more deeply, understanding their community, its labour, and its vital contribution to the backbone of rural India.

Through guided sessions, participants learned to identify and narrate stories from everyday life, transforming familiar realities into powerful visual narratives.

CICADA Foundation looks forward to curating more such meaningful and engaging workshops.
