RaAGa (Ramam Art Ghar)
RaAGa (Ramam Art Ghar) aims to emerge as a platform for amateur artists across different domains of Art to help them showcase their achievements. Its vision is to be the pivotal agency that helps budding artists in early stages of their pursuits. RaAGa is actively supported by an online community of over 100 artists and music aficionados (across all ages, backgrounds and sk
ill levels) who constantly dialogue and engage in the process of co-constructing its agenda. RaAGa plans to create an effective visual and literal dialogue in form of curated art shows, art critiques, interdisciplinary events, art books and seminars. It plans to take the initiative to strengthen interdisciplinary communication across domains of Art, in order to increase public awareness and stimulate appreciation of Art. RaAGa’s founder Rajeswari, invoking her past experiences, is focused on developing an Indo-Nippon niche, exploring various aspects of Japanese traditional art. For Rajeswari, the urge to learn and grow along a creatively different path has been infused into her from early on. She had been a dilettante most of her growing up years, born in a family that has accomplished Carnatic music artists and Kuchipudi dancers. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Japanese Language from JNU, New Delhi where she had studied extensively, Japanese Language, Literature and various nuances of Japanese Art and Culture. She later had several years of successful professional career as a Japanese Language and Culture expert, in organizations like Wipro, TCS etc. Rajeswari is mostly a self-taught artist, who actively tutored with, and learnt from artists like Swami Udhandam and Rajeshwar Nyalapalli. As her career and life in general, took her around the world, she gathered substantial cognitive material about different peoples and cultures across different countries and she also was able to retain her pursuit of Painting, albeit on a back burner. She chose to pursue Art with more dedication, and set up RaAGa, a nonprofit oriented Art group with a focus to evolve as a community space for various Artists. Her art work is on display in RaAGa. Rajeswari has also participated in various Art exhibitions and won several awards. Over the next few years, she aspires to evolve a unique expression for Japanese traditional art, leveraging her experiences in life.
“Art helps you feel, heal and stay positive”, she believes.
