Three young men, Sagar Dewrari, Rishabh Joshi and Pankaj Bisht, started from 6th November on their bicycles from Nainital, to cover the lengths and breadth of India to share the message of Save Earth: Free from pollution. In their historic enterprise they aim to cover a distance of 15000 Km and gain an entry to the Limca Book of Records. The cyclists cover at least 150 kms per day and sometimes the count reaches even 200kms per day. They have covered their distance from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari and from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh. The total distance covered till date is 12620kms. They are traveling through Jharkhand and have reached Ranchi today and will leave for Chattisgarh at 7am tomorrow morning.
This group of cyclists have been supported by an organisation Run to live, founded by Mr Harish Tiwari of St. Joseph’s College Nainital batch 1989. The cyclists are sponsored by him and his school friends along with some local businessmen from Nainital. One of his batchmates, Dr Achal Sinha is a professor of English at Saint Xavier’s College has made arrangements for their stay in Ranchi with the help of The Principal and Management of St. Xavier’s College. The three cyclists also payed a visit to St. Xavier’s College today which was made possible with the assistance and coordination of Professor Sinha. The members of college are very happy and honoured to extend their helping hand to the group during their stay in Ranchi. Fr. E. Barla said, “It is a proud moment for the college to be a part of any endeavour that promotes social cause in national interest.”
