A familiar winter visitor, in the park near my house.
Red-breasted Flycatcher — tiny, alert, and incredibly loyal to place. This little migrant has very high geofidelity: it returns to the exact same wintering spot year after year.
Every winter, it finds its way back to this corner around my home, as if guided by an invisible map etched in memory. Same perch, same season, same quiet reminder of how precise and magical migration can be.
