Defaming Homeopathy Is Not Comedy—It Is an Attack on Professional Dignity
Publicly calling a qualified homeopathic doctor a "fake doctor" while claiming that only an allopathic doctor is a "real doctor" is not constructive criticism—it is a derogatory statement that demeans an entire legally recognized system of medicine and the thousands of professionals who have dedicated their lives to serving patients.
Criticism of any medical system should be based on evidence, scientific discussion, and informed debate—not ridicule, misinformation, or personal insults. Freedom of expression is important, but it does not justify making misleading or derogatory statements that unfairly damage the reputation of an entire profession.
Homeopathy is a legally recognized system of medicine in many countries, including India. Qualified homeopathic doctors undergo professional education, clinical training, and are licensed to practice within the scope of the law. Whether one personally agrees with homeopathy or not, every healthcare professional deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
I invite Harsh Samay to first understand the history, legal recognition, educational standards, and scope of homeopathy before making or endorsing such remarks. Public influence carries a responsibility to promote informed discussion, not stereotypes or misinformation.
Equally concerning was the conduct of the homeopathic doctor who laughed instead of objecting to these derogatory remarks. Every homeopathic doctor has a professional and ethical responsibility to uphold the dignity of the profession. Remaining silent—or worse, appearing to endorse the ridicule of fellow practitioners—undermines the trust, credibility, and respect that generations of homeopathic physicians have worked to build.
Professional pride does not require attacking any other system of medicine. It requires the courage to defend one's own profession with facts, integrity, and dignity. Respect for allopathy should never come at the cost of humiliating homeopathy, just as respect for homeopathy should never require insulting any other recognized system of medicine.
As a member of the homeopathic fraternity, I strongly condemn all statements and conduct that ridicule or misrepresent homeopathy and its qualified practitioners. If any public comments or actions are found to violate applicable laws or professional ethical standards, they should be examined by the appropriate legal and regulatory authorities, and appropriate action should be taken in accordance with due process.
I also urge the respective college or educational institution, and where applicable the relevant professional and regulatory authorities, to take serious note of the conduct of the homeopathic doctor who was seen laughing while derogatory remarks were made against the profession. If the facts are verified and the conduct is found to be inconsistent with the institution's code of ethics, professional standards, or student conduct regulations, an impartial inquiry should be initiated and appropriate disciplinary action should be taken in accordance with the applicable rules.
Every homeopathic student and doctor is an ambassador of the profession. Remaining silent—or worse, appearing to support the public humiliation of one's own profession—fails to uphold the ethical responsibility expected of a healthcare professional. Professional integrity demands the courage to defend the profession respectfully, ethically, and with evidence.
This is not a conflict between different systems of medicine. It is a call for professionalism, mutual respect, accountability, and responsible public discourse.
Every healthcare profession deserves to be judged on facts—not prejudice. Every qualified doctor deserves respect—not ridicule. And every public figure, student, and healthcare professional must remember that influence should educate society, not spread misinformation or demean those who dedicate their lives to patient care.
