The earth revolves around the sun, the living breathe and within this, the circle of life is set. It has been 20 revolutions of the earth around the sun since my friend Protiti and I reconnected. And when we did, we discovered that we still had our passions burning bright for our mutual love of dance. For me, it is Kathak and for her, it is Bharatnatyam.
Dance epitomizes movement, just like the play of nature in its thriving beings, its shifting seasons and pulsating elements. What enchants us the most are the infinite possibilities of communication through dance. Be it the expression of joy or agony, the rhythm that sets the pace and carries the piece or the nuances in gestures that set the mood; every small and big element plays a role in defining the emotive frame in dance and therein the possibilities are endless!
To carry our passion forward, we have conceptualized Reva, a centre for Dance. Reva means, 'one who moves' and as an institution, we would like to convey the sheer joy of movement; one thing that we are so passionate about. Kathak and Bharatnatyam are our chosen vehicles of communication.
