Maharashtriya Kalopasak

Just like every other day, the teachers of Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya gathered at their favourite spot to enjoy their evening snacks. This evening ritual included the discussion and analysis of Marathi theatre. This discussion often criticized the current scenario of Marathi theatre, but today, it was overheard by ‘Mahamopadhyay Datto Vaman Potdar’. He joined the discussion by suggesting that these teachers should put their observations and learnings to good use by staging their own play. This invitation served as a motivation for these brilliant teachers, who decided to orchestrate the perfect play.

Their efforts resulted into an organisation which was chaired by none other than Mahamopadhyay Datto Vaman Potdar. On 3rd August 1936 began the journey of the true followers of art - Maharashtriya Kalopasak.
