Elegance of this magnificent Accipiter from our grasslands

Short-toed snake eagle, as the name suggests are known to feed on reptiles and also small mammals and birds. These birds of prey play a vital role in keeping a check on the population of these prey animals and reptiles helping in keeping a balance in the food chain. The most interesting part of this bird of prey is that it can hover in one place, while against the winds to scan the area below and pounce upon the prey on spotting one.

Eastern Imperial Eagle
In continuation with the earlier post, while I was photographing the Bonelli's Eagle I heard massive wing flaps really close and right above me and I turned around to see this majestic raptor flying so close that it didn't fit the frame that I could manage on my 400mm lens. Saw this species for the first time, that too such a close encounter and also managed to get a few good shots.

The most spectacular, dazzling, dreamy, unreal nights I've ever seen and experienced! 🌊☄️🌌
To add up to this, the night sky joined in too, with a nice bright Milky way right on the top and a few Geminid meteors shooting across 🤩
Watching these bioluminescent waves had been on my mind since a few years and finally got to see them after quite some patience. Surely an unforgettable experience!

A Hovering Learner
Purple sunbirds (in this picture a juvenile male) are small nectarine birds who visit from flower to flower in search of nectar which forms their primary diet. Along with the curved beak to reach out to the base of the flower these birds have an extra skill set to hover in a place for a few seconds and lick the nectar meanwhile. This habit makes them a ideal pollinators and hence play a vital role in the ecosystem.
Made this picture early morning on my terrace, sitting right there in my bed. Now my Mom wishes that this guy visits every morning because he's made somethings possible which the alarm couldn't 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 (waking me up on time if you thought of anything else)
