The Pune Kabir Festival, organised by the Baithak Foundation, is back again in 2025- and this time, the grand finale, Jhini, finds its culmination in our very own IISER!

The Pune Kabir Festival is an annual tribute to saint poetry, to reflect upon and rejoice in the teachings of Sant Kabir. This year, the theme is centred on Kabir's unique interpretation of Maya- the illusion.

On Sunday, February 2nd, from 5:30 PM-9:00 PM in the Amphitheatre, we have with us an assorted tableaux of artists weaving stories and melodies anchored in and around the misleading appearances of the world.

Opening the event, we have Vinay Varanasi- a storyteller, painter and lyricist- bridging myriad realms with captivating stories from the Puranas.
Following him, we have Mandar Karanjkar and Dakshayani Athalye- the masterminds behind Baithak Foundation and revered cultural ambassadors in their own right, bringing Kabir's verses to life with their own original compositions.
Closing the act is a name few will not know- Padma Shri Prahlad Tipanya- presenting the saint's approach to divinity with his own expressive renditions, in the Malwi style from Madhya Pradesh.

This concert is free and open to all. You may register to attend here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc9CZTf6VziQaW7pu3nAuahOj80L2VvAu9ws0fI4RXahqi09g/viewform,
