Centre Of Contemporary Dance We are proud to be the only dance school in the city providing a library for research on contemporary dance.

We at the centre, believe everyone moves in some way or the other, to get de-stressed, fit and connected to their bodies. The Centre Of Contemporary Dance is a committed organization to contemporary dance and physical theatre. The main objective of the school is to promote this fastest growing art form in India. Contemporary Dance form can be conceived as a new way of communication through the human anatomy, hence bringing in originality, creativity, growth, and a new dimension to the representation of the dance ballets.

CALL FOR DANCERS

Centre of Contemporary Dance invites committed dancers in Pune to be part of a 2-month intensive training and performance program with choreographer Hrishikesh Pawar.

Designed for intermediate to advanced-level dancers with 5–10 years of dance experience, the program offers an opportunity to deepen movement practice, work closely with a choreographer, and experience the process from training to performance.

What happens when we give ourselves the time to read, pause, and think together?

This session continues our exploration of dance through books, ideas, questions and conversations. Participants will engage with a curated selection of texts, read at their own pace, make notes, and come together to share reflections and perspectives.

A space where reading becomes part of the artistic practice, where ideas can be explored before they become movement.

For Hrishikesh Pawar, the need for a platform for emerging choreographers comes from creating space, for experimentation, new questions, diverse perspectives, and voices that may not otherwise find a place on stage.

Through the Emerging Choreographers Platform, initiated as part of the Prayatna Film and Dance Festival in Pune, he has nurtured a space where young choreographers can take risks, explore ideas and allow their practices to evolve through dialogue with audiences.

Emerging Voices brings a selection of these evolving works to The Cube, NMACC, Mumbai, extending that conversation to a new audience and context.

Emerging Voices brings together three distinct works by emerging choreographers, each using movement to explore identity, connection, resilience, and belonging.

The evening draws from the Emerging Choreographers platform at the Prayatna Film and Dance Festival, founded by Hrishikesh Pawar, a platform that has nurtured new voices in contemporary dance for over 16 years.

In 2026, NARTHAKI and Dr. Anita Ratnam supported this vibrant platform, helping bring these emerging perspectives to the stage.

Featuring works by Kunaal Sangtani & Troupe (Mumbai), Snigdha Prabhakar (Bangalore), and Henna Raisinghani & Radhika Rathod (Pune).
