सीमोल्लंगन…
"Regular practice of sketching is a favourite subject for both me and Varsha. After finishing college at G.E.S. Art College in Satara, we used to go for sketching every day—sometimes at the S.T. stand, sometimes at the market, sometimes at the palace, and when the circus came to town, we would get prior permission and go early in the morning to do live sketches of various animals. As a result, not only did our drawing improved, but we also developed a passion for sketching. All the credit for this goes to our respected mentor, Mr. Vijaykumar Dhumal Sir. Inspired by his motivation, we used to work diligently.
"You cannot paint a house until it's built." This quote by G.B. Bridgman resonates with me deeply, and I strongly believe in it. This is why both of us continued sketching regularly even today.
While preparing for the exhibition 'Ti' (She), the thought occurred to display all the sketches together. Though I have previously exhibited black-and-white sketches in earlier exhibitions, this time, I wanted to explore something new. This search for a new medium took me back to my hometown. When I was there, my younger brother showed me a designer bedspread. The moment I saw it, an idea sparked in my mind, and I decided to reach out to a senior friend from Solapur who has extensive experience in textile design. I shared my idea with him, and he liked it as well. He introduced me to a senior 'textile card' designer, to whom I explained my drawing concept. This marked the start of the real work, where we explored numerous possibilities, encountering both successes and setbacks. The final artwork that emerged from this process—a fusion of our drawings and Jacquard weaving—has been showcased in this exhibition.
Some of the artworks in this exhibition represent the fusion of 'Jacquard technology' and our creativity. In some parts of my drawings, I have also applied gold foil. In this entire process, there is a connection to the roots at some level... meaning the essence of form creation—the line—and the 'Jacquard sheet' is, in a way, similar to the arrangement of a 'Wakal' (a traditional quilt), which reflects the foundation of my life's memories, just like in my series of artworks.
This new creation has emerged from the fusion of fine art and Jacquard technology. In today's contemporary visual art, the boundaries of medium of expression no longer exist, and this experiment strongly reaffirms that belief.

रेखाटन/स्केचिंग यांचा नित्य सराव हा माझा व वर्षाचा आवडीचा विषय.... सातारा येथील जी.ई.एस. कला म महाविद्यालय, सातारा येथील कॅालेज सुटल्यावर आम्ही रोज स्केचिंगला जायचो, कधी S.T.Stand तर कधी मंडई, कधी राजवाडा तर कधी सर्कस आली कि तिथे पुर्व परवानगी घेवून रोज सकाळी विविध प्राण्यांची लाईव्ह स्केचेस करायला आम्ही जायचो. त्यामुळे ड्रॅांईग तर सुधारलेच आणि स्केचिंगची गोडीपण लागली याचे सारे श्रेय जाते ते आमचे गुरूवर्य श्री.विजयकुमार धुमाळ सरांना. त्यांच्या रेषेने प्रेरीत होवून आम्ही काम करायचो.

म्हणजेच तुम्ही घर बांधल्याशिवाय रंगवू शकत नाही.
हे G.B.Bridgman चे वाक्य मला खुप पटते व मी पण त्याच मताचा आहे. त्यामुळे आम्ही दोघआजही सतत रेखाटन करत असतो.
‘ती’ हे प्रदर्शन करताना सर्व रेखाटने एकत्र लावावीत असा विचार केला होता. पण आजपर्यंत प्रदर्शनात Black & White रेखाटने वेळोवेळी या आधी लावली आहेतच. पण यावेळेस आपण काही तरी नवीन माध्यम शोधावे असे सतत वाटत होते. हाच शोध- विचार मला परत माझ्या गावी घेवून गेला. सहज गावी गेल्यावर माझ्या लहान भावने एक डिझायनर चादर दाखली ती पाहिल्यावर क्षणातच माझी ट्यूब पेटली व सोलापूरातीलच माझ्या सिनियर मित्राची मि भेट घेतली. त्याचा टेक्सटाईल डिझायनिंगचा दांडगा अनुभव आहे. मी माझी कल्पना त्याला सांगितली ती त्यालापण आवडली . मग परत त्यानी एक सिनियर 'टेक्सटाईल कर्ड ' डिझायनरची भेट करून दिली त्यांना मी माझ्या ड्रॅांईग विषयीची कल्पना सांगितली. मग प्रत्यक्ष कामाला सुरूवात झाली आणि त्यानुसारअनेक यश अपयशाच्या शक्यता तपासून झाल्या . यातुन तयार झालेली चित्रकृती म्हणजे आमचे ड्रॉईंग व जे कार्ड व्हीव्हींग अशी सलग्न कलाकृती आम्ही या प्रद्रर्शनात प्रदर्शीत केली आहे.
'जॅकवार्ड(Jacquard) तंत्रज्ञान ' आणि आमची क्रिएटीव्हीटीचा संगम म्हणजे या प्रदर्शनातील काही कलाकृती आहेत. माझ्या ड्राईंग मधे काही ठिकाणी वरून गोल्ड फॅाईल पण लावली आहे. या पूर्ण प्रक्रियेमधे कुठे तरी 'मुळांचा संवाद मुळाशी आहे
.....म्हणजे आकार निर्मितीचे मुळ - रेषा आणि 'जॅकवार्ड (Jacquard) चादर ' एक प्रकारे 'वाकळ ( गोधडी )'या माझ्या चित्रमालीकेसारखीच मांडणी या माझ्या आयुष्यातील आठवणीचे मुळ आहे.
एक प्रकारे फाईन आर्ट आणि जॅकवार्ड(Jacquard) तंत्रज्ञान यांचा मिलापातुन निर्माण झालेली हि एक नवनिर्मितीच....
समकालीन दृष्य कलेत आज अभिव्यक्तीला माध्यमाचे लिमीटेशन् राहिलेले नाही… असेच या प्रयोग शिलतेमुळे आम्हाला म्हणावेसे वाटते.
