7am FLOWT ☁️🌊🐦⬛..spine healing
After 25+ years of technique and codified dance, transitioning to free flow involved my senses to shift from structured, predetermined moments to spontaneous, improvisational expression
This shift engages the body and feelings more deeply, emphasizing somatic awareness, where movement arises from internal sensations, emotions, and physical impulses rather than external rules
It fosters a connection to the present moment, allowing the body to explore and express in an instinctive way, transcending aesthetic formality
Something I thought impossible until 7 years ago, the day when contemporary movement ways entered my path...
..and it has now become a necessity to heal my injury
I’m healing my spine through fluid movements, letting my body move with ease and grace. It’s not about forcing, but about finding a natural flow that gently releases tension and realigns what’s out of balance. Each movement feels like a conversation with my spine...soft, responsive, and healing.
It’s in the fluidity that I feel strength, freedom, and a deep lasting connection to my own wellbeing
I feel healing in the flow of my movement, like my body is speaking its own language, releasing what’s been held too tight
Moving isn’t just exercise, it’s medicine. It is how I restore my balance, clear stagnant energy, and feel alive. I realize how crucial it is to keep moving, for my body, and for my mind and soul
It is in the flow that I find my strength, my peace, and my true self
I slow move to heal
I slow flow for my spine to breathe
I move because it has always been part of my life...in water first, then on land
I dance because it has been medicine for my soul
Because it has been a quiet rebellion against my fears
I also dance for something higher than myself
I dance to feel life
Moving reminds me that I still can
And I move just because I love it 🖤
