Condolence Message
Dear Comrades,
With deep sorrow we share the news that Iti Sharan, daughter of our comrade and poet Sumant Sharan and granddaughter of the late Kavi Kanhaiya ji, passed away this morning after a brave fight with illness.
Iti was a young journalist, a graduate of IIMC, and had worked with several media organisations in Delhi. She carried forward the legacy of her family’s commitment to culture, literature and social concerns. Her untimely demise is a tragic loss not only for her family but also for the wider IPTA and Progressive Writers’ Association family.
In this moment of grief, we stand in solidarity with Comrade Sumant Sharan and the entire family. We convey our heartfelt condolences and share their pain. May her soul rest in peace.

प्रिय साथियों,
गहरे दुख के साथ सूचित करना पड़ रहा है कि हमारे साथी कवि सुमंत शरण की बेटी और कविवर कन्हैया जी की पौत्री इति शरण का आज सुबह निधन हो गया। उन्होंने गंभीर बीमारी से लंबे संघर्ष के बाद अंतिम सांस ली।
इति शरण एक युवा पत्रकार थीं, जिन्होंने आईआईएमसी से पत्रकारिता की पढ़ाई की थी और दिल्ली के कई मीडिया संस्थानों से जुड़ी रहीं। अपने परिवार की सांस्कृतिक और प्रगतिशील विरासत को वे आगे बढ़ा रही थीं। उनका असमय जाना न केवल परिवार के लिए बल्कि इप्टा और प्रगतिशील लेखक संघ के पूरे परिवार के लिए अपूरणीय क्षति है।
इस कठिन घड़ी में हम साथी सुमंत शरण और पूरे परिवार के साथ खड़े हैं और अपनी गहरी संवेदनाएँ प्रकट करते हैं। हम सब मिलकर इति शरण की आत्मा की शांति की कामना करते हैं।
