On the occasion of World Theatre Day, Bihar Art Theatre proudly organised a thought-provoking session celebrating the spirit of theatre and its timeless relevance in society.
The discussion highlighted how theatre is not just a form of entertainment, but a powerful medium of expression that reflects reality, questions norms, and inspires change. From shaping cultural identity to raising awareness on social issues, theatre continues to play a vital role in connecting communities and nurturing creativity.
The seminar also focused on the future of theatre—exploring ways to make it more inclusive, innovative, and accessible for the coming generations. Emphasis was laid on encouraging young talent, integrating modern techniques, and preserving the rich legacy of dramatic arts.
On this special occasion, Chairman Shri R. N. Dash, Secretary Shri Abhishek Ranjan, Director of Bihar Institute of Dramatics Susmita Mukherjee, Shri Arun Kumar Sinha, Shri Anil Chaturvedi, Shri Pradeep Ganguly, along with other esteemed members, graced the event with their presence and valuable insights.

आज कालिदास रंगालय में उस समय खास माहौल बन गया जब प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता मनोज बाजपेई वहां पहुंचे और चल रहे जीर्णोद्धार कार्य का जायजा लिया। रंगालय के नए स्वरूप को देखकर उन्होंने न केवल प्रसन्नता व्यक्त की बल्कि इसे बिहार के सांस्कृतिक पुनर्जागरण का मजबूत संकेत भी बताया। उन्होंने थिएटर की तकनीकी संरचना, लाइटिंग सिस्टम, साउंड डिज़ाइन और मंचीय सुविधाओं की विस्तार से जानकारी ली और कहा कि आधुनिक तकनीक से लैस यह रंगालय कलाकारों को बेहतर मंच उपलब्ध कराएगा और दर्शकों को विश्वस्तरीय अनुभव देगा।

इस अवसर पर बिहार आर्ट थियेटर के महासचिव कुमार अभिषेक रंजन ने मनोज बाजपेई को रंगालय में चल रहे कार्यों की विस्तृत जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि यह जीर्णोद्धार सिर्फ भवन तक सीमित नहीं है बल्कि इसे एक संपूर्ण सांस्कृतिक केंद्र के रूप में विकसित किया जा रहा है, जहां नाटक, अभिनय प्रशिक्षण, कार्यशालाएं और सांस्कृतिक आयोजन नियमित रूप से होंगे। मनोज बाजपेई ने इस पहल को सराहते हुए कहा कि रंगमंच कलाकारों के लिए अनुशासन और तकनीकी समझ उतनी ही जरूरी है जितनी प्रतिभा।

इस अवसर पर बिहार सरकार के कला एवं संस्कृति विभाग के सचिव प्रणव कुमार ने कहा कि कालिदास रंगालय के सभी निर्माण कार्य को शीघ्र पूरा करा दिया जाएगा। इस दौरान मनोज बाजपेई ने बिहार नाट्यकला प्रशिक्षणलय के छात्रों से भी मुलाकात की। उन्होंने युवाओं को अभिनय में निरंतर अभ्यास, अनुशासन और क्राफ्ट पर विशेष ध्यान देने की सलाह दी। उन्होंने कहा कि थिएटर कलाकारों की असली पहचान मंच पर उनके व्यवहार और मेहनत से बनती है और यही आगे चलकर फिल्म और डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म तक का रास्ता खोलती है। इस दौरान डॉ. ज्ञानदेवमणि त्रिपाठी ने भी कालिदास रंगालय के नए स्वरूप पर प्रसन्नता जाहिर की और इसे बिहार के सांस्कृतिक इतिहास में एक महत्वपूर्ण अध्याय बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि कालिदास रंगालय लंबे समय से रंगमंच की पहचान रहा है और अब इसका नया रूप आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए प्रेरणा बनेगा। इस दौरान बिहार आर्ट थिएटर के अध्यक्ष श्री आर.एन. दाश, निदेशक सुष्मिता मुखर्जी सहित अन्य सदस्य भी मौजूद रहे।
