One year ago we premiered ‘Dance of Shakti’ at Fundação Oriente . It was our third edition and the most profound one too .

🙏🏻 🙏🏻 It’s been an honor to live in India for the past 12 years; a blessing to immerse with the people of India, to grow with ‘Her’ teachings, to transform through her Arts, and to transcende with the direct transmission of Yoga, Music and Dance by imminent Gurus, through the ancient Guru Shishya Parampara Tradition.

‘Sunil Kothari, a Padma Shri awardee and dance historian, said the artists had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel and officials of the Culture Ministry, but had not received a reply yet.’
Eviction notice has been given to eminent artists in Delhi and this just proves that ‘humanity’ has still a very long way to go in India . .. .. specially in a time of a PANDEMIC !

After two successful editions of Jiya, Festival da India in Lisbon, Portugal - we are back with the third edition to celebrate Indian Classical Music and Dance.
We are glad to announce that this year Jiya, Festival da India will be an Online Charity Event in partnership with Go Dharmic Welfare Foundation and the proceeds from the ticket sales and donations will go towards the performing artists and providing ration kits to vulnerable artist families in rural India.
The COVID 19 outbreak has proved to be a major setback to millions financially, emotionally and mentally. The pandemic has had an especially devastating effect on those who rely on regular incomes from festivals, weddings, shows, and various public gatherings.

A Dance dream turned to reality thanks to so many who supported the vision.
They performed a Odissi & Mayubanj Chhau Jugalbhandi , choreographed by Guru Kasturi Pattanaik.

Chantelle Gomez, the founder and director of Nakshtra Productions, currently is the curator of the ‘Nataraj Dance Stage’ for Boom Festival in Portugal.
She is also the founder and director of ‘Jiya, Festival da India’ in Lisbon, Portugal. ‘Jiya’ is the leading event in this country that promotes pure classical performing arts from India with the support from the Embassy of India in Lisbon and the Fundacao Museu Oriente.
In 2020, we launched Narthaki Performing Arts School in Goa and Lisboa, a center for learning Indian Classical Dance and Music.
