On a Different Note marks the beginning of something very special. Something at the intersection of theatre, music and movement. A performance installtion if you will......
We were initially scheduled to perform 4 shows at Serendipity Arts festival in Goa...we ended up doing 12 .....
A big shout out to everyone on, in, behind and around the project- and there have been many. Love, hugs and gratitude... The team, the performers and the audience- together we managed something amazing, something very special that we will carry with us. .... Our hearts are full.
Now .... For the next step.... And the next....
For now we'll end with one of the lines that inspired the work ..." We who are asleep must open our eyes and look about us". By Bama.

This tree is hundreds of years old. It looks more like a fossil. It's been dead for years and yet it refuses to die... Tiny braches sprout from within..... There's a whole kingdom of insects, worms, reptiles living in that cavern like hollow trunk... It's fascinating. It's a reaffirmation. Something we all need in these times.

First(and only) Long Post:

On a Different Note began as a idea nearly two years ago.
Nimi Ravindran and Vinod Ravindran started out wanting to explore working with a group of choral singers in Goa. The plans stayed just plans and the project was in a cold storage for nearly a year. In 2019 it grew wings anew and we were ready to start on a new and exciting journey.
The first collaborator on the project was musician, composer, conductor Parvesh Java(thank you Salome for putting us in touch-so,so grateful :)). And, so started the project that till then was only being referred to as The Choir Project!

On a Different Note is an installation with music, movement, words, light and space playing out various roles. It is a journey through an abandoned structure.
As we journey with the audience we hope to fill these spaces with sound, light, memories and hope.
On a Different Note is a possibility thanks The Serendipity Arts Festival.
It is came into being thanks to some incredibly generous and talented collaborators.
