A glaze that is dark, raw and earthy combined with my dark stoneware clay. Not for everyone but definitely for some. These pieces are contemporary canvases for your food. My favourite out of this series is definitely the three-piece cheese platter. Tempted to keep one for myself. 🫣

Oh, what a joy it’s been creating these pieces. Sharing a little sneak peek from this series because I just couldn’t wait.

I hand-painted each plate in cobalt oxide over a neutral oatmeal coloured glaze, fired it at high temperatures, and then mounted it onto a wooden plank. There is beautiful gold hardware at the back so it’s easy to put up and instantly transforms a wall.

If you’ve followed my work for a while, you already know how much I love painting sea creatures. It comes from my love for the beach. There is something about bringing that feeling into a space that makes it warmer and more personal. Whether you live by the sea or in the middle of a busy city, pieces like these have a way of softening a bare wall and adding a story to it.

This series is not on the website yet. I am still working through photographing and uploading everything, but I had to share this glimpse with you.

I really hope you enjoy this collection. It feels playful, beachy, and very close to my heart. There is so much more coming your way. Stay tuned.

I made this piece as a sample for a café recently. I tend to take on projects that naturally align with my skillset and aesthetic. It makes the process feel intuitive, almost effortless, and the end result always feels more honest.

It also really helps when a client understands the nature of my studio. This isn’t a large-scale factory. It’s a boutique space where every piece is shaped, refined, and finished by hand. People come to me for something that feels personal, something rooted in skill and intention.

Commissions here take time, and that’s simply the reality of working with clay. From start to finish, a piece like this can take anywhere between 20 to 30 days. Throwing, trimming, drying, refining, firing, glazing, firing again, each step has its own pace and cannot be rushed.

It’s not about delay, it’s about process.

I’ve always been drawn to painting on ceramics. There’s something deeply meditative about it. But because I fire my work at very high temperatures, most colours tend to fade or completely disappear, so over time, my palette has naturally become more restrained.

Except for this blue.

This ancient, steadfast blue always comes through. And paired with white, it carries a kind of timelessness that feels bigger than any one place. This blue-and-white language has traveled across cultures and centuries, you see echoes of it in early Chinese pottery, in Persian ceramics, in majolica, and so many other traditions. It’s a combination that the world has held onto, again and again.

And while I’m Indian, a big part of my creative heart has always been in Japan. Anyone who knows me knows how deeply I’m inspired by the country, its beauty, its philosophy, its relationship with craft.

These bowls are my small ode.
A love letter to a place that continues to inspire me, endlessly.

As I write this post these bowls are no longer available to purchase. They got sold out but you will see me bring this design again.

This has to be my favourite snack plate I have made so far. It feels minimal and modern, but still rooted in nature.

Dainty patterns, painted slowly and with intention. I imagine these holding little bites at a gathering, or sitting by the bedside catching jewellery at the end of the day.

Over the years, I have realised I am not someone who can separate beauty from function. For a piece to make sense to me, it has to be used. I do love sculptural work, but as a ceramicist I find myself always coming back to utility.

I need my pots to be a part of someone’s everyday life. To be picked up, lived with, reached for without a second thought. That is where the real joy lies for me. When something I made becomes a small, familiar part of someone’s day, it feels like I have left a piece of myself behind.

So yes, function matters deeply to me. And if it can be beautiful and impossible to ignore at the same time, even better.

Grogged dark stoneware, fired at 1265°C in a gas kiln, finished in a soft cream white glaze, with dainty wildflowers painted by hand in a cobalt oxide wash.

To a ceramic artist, every one of these words holds meaning. To most people, it probably sounds like another language.

And that is exactly the point.

There is so much that lives behind a finished piece that you never see. The testing, the waiting, the failures, the small decisions that shape the final form. What looks like a simple cup or bowl carries hours of thought, care, and patience.

By the time you see a photograph like this, the work has already been done. Slowly, deliberately, and with great attention to detail.

Handmade is not just how it looks. It is everything that happened before.

3 weeks of slowing down, observing, questioning…and slowly beginning to understand what truly happens inside a kiln.

In March, this space was filled with curious hands and even more curious minds. Measuring, mixing, testing, failing. Watching students go from not knowing where to begin, to confidently creating their own glaze recipes, is always the most beautiful transformation to witness.

But beyond the chemistry, there was so much more….shared meals, warm conversations, laughter between students and the joy of making something with intention. The kind of learning that doesn’t just stay in your notebook, but settles into your hands (or so i hope).

This course will always be about more than just glazes. It’s about understanding your material deeply enough to trust yourself with it.

Grateful for this batch, their energy, and everything we created together. 🤍

A slow studio morning,
painting tiny nature-inspired motifs on handmade forms.

Fish, wildflowers, little details.
Each piece quietly finding its own character before it goes into the kiln.
