Attending a three-day International Printmaking Symposium (3rd - 5th November 2023) organized by (IPEP) India was a rewarding experience. It provided a deep investigation into the area of printmaking, as aptly named "For the Love of Printmaking," it highlighted the importance of image-making, creativity and inventiveness in the medium that goes beyond the traditional techniques.
IPEP India has spent the past decade building a global community of printmakers through their Print Exchange Programs and, more recently, the Printmaking Symposium, which has allowed for greater engagement concerning the art of printmaking.
For me, a special highlight of this symposium was when artist Venugopal VG mentioned in his presentation about the activities held by Studio Tints and Prints in Bangalore, which made me feel as if I had contributed my tiny bit to the cause of printmaking, and such platforms keep the enthusiasm alive.
Finally, I am pleased to be a part of the IPEP community, and I thank Rajesh Pullarwar for his efforts to promote printmaking and availing a valuable learning experience through this kind of initiatives.
