It gives us great honour to welcome "Mr. Laxman Vyas" as our chief guest. Laxman Vyas Murtikar
Laxman Vyas, a renowned sculptor and artist; the visionary Chairman of Lalit Kala Academy, has made a lasting impact on Indian art.
The title of Minister of State has also been bestowed upon Vyas Ji.
Shri. Laxman Vyas was born in Nohar, Rajasthan, on January 25, 1978. Whenever it rained while he was a boy, he would play around with mud and sculpt out temples and other intriguing shapes; his father eventually caught wind of this and decided to encourage his love in art by enrolling him in a fine arts subject during his secondary education.
His father determined that after he graduated from high school, he should major in sculpting at the University of Rajasthan in Jaipur for his undergraduate degree. From the moment he earned his degree, there was no turning back. So far, he has created more than 300 idols.
The Elephants at the Delhi Airport, Shyam Singh Atari's sculpture at the Bagh Border, Maharana Pratap's sculpture in Udaipur, and many others are just a few examples. The enormous 9,500-kg bronze cast of the national emblem that is currently perched atop the new Parliament building is also of paramount works of his career. His own sculptures, which combine conventional methods with modern sensibilities, have won praise across the globe. Vyas ji has produced a work that is full of integrity, humility, and a knowledge of the transformational potential of art.
A dynamic artistic environment that promotes excellence, conversation, and social change has been developed by Vyas ji. For many years to come, the future of Indian art will be influenced by his efforts.
