Mukhavaran Theatre Group presents 'Khamosh! Adalat Jari Hai '.

Hindi. 150 mins.

Synopsis:

“Khamosh! Adalat Jari Hai” is a Hindi translation of the Marathi play “Shantana! Court Chalu Aahe” written by renowned playwright Vijay Tendulkar.

The plot is set in true retrograde fashion, a mock trial, with a truly bonafide theme. A scintillating case of a woman ahead of her time versus an egoistic and hypocritical jury, and a lawyer with an agenda. Inspired by real life events, the story elegantly rolls out in a mise en abyme, all the while highlighting the misogyny and bigotry of crew members, who were attempting to soil the integrity of fellow colleagues and teacher.

Rangkkosi presents 'A Gatekeeper's Tale'.

Hindi. 55 mins.

Synopsis:
In this haunting stage adaptation of Kafka’s "Before the Law," the stage is dominated by a singular, towering archway. A Man from the Country arrives, driven by a desperate, lifelong yearning to access the Law. Standing in his path is the Gatekeeper, a figure of bureaucratic indifference who warns that while entry is possible, he cannot allow it "at this moment."

The play unfolds as a minimalist psychodrama of stagnation. The Man transforms from a vibrant seeker into a withered shadow, spending decades on a wooden stool. He attempts everything bribery, pleading, and even whispering to the fleas in the Gatekeeper’s fur collar yet he never simply walks through. The Gatekeeper remains a constant, looming presence, neither cruel nor kind, merely an immovable object representing the internal and external barriers of the human condition.

As the Man’s eyesight fails and death nears, he perceives a divine radiance streaming from the doorway. With his final breath, he asks why no one else has sought entry in all these years. The Gatekeeper leans down to deliver the devastating climax: "This entrance was meant solely for you. I am now going to shut it."

Noah/Manu - A sound healing play

English. 60 mins.

Synopsis:
Noah/Manu is a bold intercultural theatre experience weaving together two ancient flood myths–Noah's Ark (Abrahamic) and Manu and the Fish (Hindu)–into an urgent, modern political story.

Noah/Manu hosts a beloved children's TV show, spreading messages of peace and harmony as political violence rises around a looming election.
When he is warned that a flood of destruction is coming, one that will sweep away everything unlike love, he must find a way to survive it, and rebuild what remains.

Rooted in the American creator's firsthand six weeks of study in India this past summer, including a 10-day Vipassana silence retreat in Bodh Gaya and Sound Healing Teacher Training in Rishikesh, the play draws on singing bowls, chanting, and silence to ask: How can community get built when everything else gets destroyed?

Trishaan Foundation presents 'Kashmkash'.

Hindi. 50 mins.

Synopsis:
The play opens in the heavy, silent aftermath of a tragic car accident. A woman is dead, leaving behind a void that two men must now navigate. One is her Husband, the anchor of her domestic life; the other is her Lover, the secret pulse of her hidden desires.

In a tense, late-night encounter, these two strangers linked only by the woman they both loved engage in a chilling psychological duel. As they peel back the layers of her life, the boundaries between marriage and betrayal, devotion and obsession, begin to blur.

Inspired by Surendra Verma’s classic Marnouprant, Kashmkash is not just a story of infidelity; it is a clinical dissection of the human heart. It asks a haunting question: How well do we truly know the people we share our lives with? Over the course of one night, the Husband and the Lover realize that they were both merely fragments of a woman who belonged entirely to herself.

ACT- Atelier Campus Theatre Festival Season 16 presents 'Pencil Ke Daag' by LSR, Dramsoc and 'Shambhuk Vadh' by Aveksha, GGSIPU.

Pencil Ke Daag

Mime. 15 mins

Synopsis:
This mime play traces the silent journey of children through a rigid schooling system that shapes, labels, and scars them long before they understand it. Beginning in primary school, curiosity and joy are slowly replaced by fear, obedience, and comparison as authority enforces hierarchy, gender bias, and conformity. Through symbolic imagery—inspection, confinement, mechanisation, and a battlefield-like exam hall—the play exposes how unhealthy competition, discrimination, and suppressed identity damage young minds. As one child breaks down under guilt and pressure, a compassionate teacher attempts to heal the wounds, but the scars remain. The final image confronts the audience with a haunting truth: childhood experiences in school leave impressions that adulthood can never fully erase.

Shambuk Vadh

Hindi. 50 mins.

Synopsis:
The play Sambhuk Vadh highlights the deep-rooted clash between Brahmins and Shudras, exposing the harsh injustice faced by the lower caste. When a drought strikes, Shambhuk-a Shudra sage-performs penance to bring change. But his act challenges the Brahmanical order. To "restore dharma," King Ram kills Shambhuk, not for any crime, but for breaking caste boundaries. The play powerfully questions this blind social hierarchy and the cruel cost of maintaining it.
