Sri G.Balasubramaniam ,fondly called " Balu Sir" , is a doyen in the Carnatic Music circles of Mumbai. He left for his heavenly abode on 29th August 2021. He has graced Rasamayee, alongwith Raji Mami, in the Thyagaraja Aradhana and other events on many occasions. Many in Rasamayee had a close association with Balu Sir and received his guidance as students and mentees. Simple and a humble person, he was a teacher, vocalist and a composer in multiple languages like Tamil and Sanskrit and was committed to promoting classical music. He will be greatly missed by the music fraternity and all his students and admirers. Rasamayee pays humble respects to the great soul.

Swaramadhuri Sangeetha Sanstha, a musical association in Mumbai, is organising an online program to pay tribute to Balu Sir. We are thankful to Swaramadhuri for organizing this online event.
