Nayak 2026 — A Grand Finale ✨

Three evenings. Six classical traditions. One timeless Nayak.

The 33rd Nataraj Pandit Gopi Krishna Jayanti Mahotsav 2026 came to a beautiful close with the powerful artistry of Sanatan Chakravarty (Odissi) and Tirtha Kumar Nath & Jyotishman Moran (Sattriya).

The Mahotsav, initiated by Guru Rekha Nadgauda as a tribute to her revered Guru, Nataraj Pandit Gopi Krishna Ji, has always been a celebration of his extraordinary legacy. This year, Nayak – Season II made that tribute even more special by bringing male dancers from across India’s classical traditions to the forefront.

And in Kirti Kala Mandir’s Golden Jubilee year, celebrating 50 glorious years of KKM, this three-day celebration became a beautiful confluence of legacy, gratitude and the timeless spirit of dance.

Day Two — Six Traditions, One Spirit

Nayak – Season II continued its journey with another unforgettable evening of rhythm, energy and extraordinary artistry. ✨

The second day of the 33rd Nataraj Pandit Gopi Krishna Jayanti Mahotsav 2026 brought together two remarkable male dancers—Vaibhav Joshi in Kathak and Darshan Shankar in Bharatanatyam.

Two traditions. Two distinct vocabularies. Two powerful artistic personalities—yet one shared spirit: the Nayak.

That is the beauty of this festival. It gives the male dancer a space to be celebrated in all his dimensions—powerful yet sensitive, dynamic yet graceful, traditional yet deeply individual.

With six classical traditions coming together across three evenings, Nayak became more than a festival. It became a celebration of the diversity and living legacy of Indian classical dance.

And as Kirti Kala Mandir marks 50 years of its artistic journey in this Golden Jubilee year, these moments become even more precious. Fifty years of dance, dedication, discipleship and an unwavering commitment to the classical arts—and the journey continues.

Day One — The Beginning of Nayak

What a magnificent way to begin the 33rd Nataraj Pandit Gopi Krishna Jayanti Mahotsav 2026! ✨

This year, the Mahotsav returned as “Nayak – Season II”, celebrating the powerful presence of the male dancer across India’s classical dance traditions. Under the vision of Kirti Kala Mandir, the stage brought together exceptional male artistes who embody strength, grace, expression and individuality through dance.

The opening evening at Kalidas Kala Mandir, Nashik, featured the brilliance of Sudip Kumar Ghosh (Manipuri) and Rithwik Venkat (Kuchipudi), reminding us once again that the language of Indian classical dance transcends boundaries of style, region and time.

And this celebration holds an even deeper significance for us. Kirti Kala Mandir completes 50 glorious years in February 2026—making this Golden Jubilee year a milestone in our journey of preserving, nurturing and presenting Indian classical arts.

What better way to celebrate 50 years than by honouring the timeless spirit of the Nayak on stage? ❤️
