People saw Randy Orton '05 in WWE 2K26 and immediately called the entrance lazy ā€” no pyro, felt unfinished.

It isn't. The Legend Killer walked out to the tron, hit the pose, and that was the entrance. The pyro wasn't a weekly thing in 2005.

2K didn't cut a corner. They got it right.

One of Kaneā€™s most iconic themes almost never became his theme at all. Finger Eleven guitarist Rick Jackett revealed that ā€œSlow Chemicalā€ got caught in a disagreement involving mastering and publishing rights, to the point that the band thought WWE might never use it. They were even considering taking their part of the song back and turning it into something else. Then one night the band was playing pool at a pub with wrestling on TV when they suddenly heard Kaneā€™s organ intro and realized WWE was actually using their song. The story gets even crazier because Type O Negative had also recorded a completely different Kane theme called ā€œOut of the Fireā€ that WWE never used. Kane somehow had two incredible songs sitting around during the same era, and only one became part of his legacy.

Then SVR 2007 came along with Three Days Grace, Nonpoint, Rise Against and Black Stone Cherry.

Two completely different soundtracks, both permanently attached to WWE gaming nostalgia. šŸ”„

Boogeyman was Superstar 32. Jimmy Wang Yang was Superstar 33. Layla was Diva 04. Jillian Hall was Diva 07.

The wrestlers were gone, but pieces of them were still hiding in the game. šŸ”„

These were early and alternate SVR 2008 renders, and honestly some of them have even more personality than the final versions.
