After a longish break - we have spent the last few months trying to get back on our feet, holding smaller classes, keeping the space active. And finding it necessary to keep the magic of art alive, even as these bleak times surround us.

We are hosting our annual art workshops- live - but in smaller groups (only 6 per batch), following all safety precautions, as we have been since we reopened post the first wave. For a couple of hours, at least, we can give our children a space to breathe.

The day of Vijayadasami is about new learning and new beginnings. This year has been especially challenging for us, as we grappled with transitioning to an online space and now back to juggling both. And so, this feels extra special - launching our first Art Room DIY Kit! With all materials provided and in three simple steps, you can create your own Jamini Roy-style painting! Priced at Rs. 500, every kit contains a canvas board, paints, brush, palette, carbon sheet for tracing, and a sheet for drawing, along with the painting as reference. We have used recycled paper for the packaging, and are hoping to launch one new kit every fortnight.

The Art Room DIY Kits can be picked up from our centre in CIT Colony or we can ship them anywhere in India (shipping charges extra).

And classes have begun at The Art Room Chennai :) We are so delighted to see people (even if with masks and suitably social distanced) back at our studio space! As mentioned earlier, we are limiting the number of students per batch to not more than 6, so do write to us 7550071255 to book your time slot and day.
