4. To support worthy charitable organizations through our work. OBJECTIVES
Here are our SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-based) objectives for attaining our goals:
Goal 1
Attract and retain responsible talent that has potential to excel, in all
areas of theatre – writing, dance, music, acting, directing, lights,
sound, sets, costumes, makeup, production etc.
• Have a well thought out selection process in place for recruiting
talent.
• Put in place a performance appraisal mechanism. ‘Performance’
here may not be limited to performance in a particular Playpen
show/production. It would also include year-round conduct,
proactive participation and contribution of the talent to Playpen.
• Organize training programs/workshops for talent improvement. The
training programs/workshops which are charged may be offered
free as incentive to deserving/needy Playpen members. Goal 2
Push innovation in all areas of theatre.
• Organize/participate in festivals, events that reward original work.
• Organize training programs/workshops/seminars/talks in non-
theatre art forms, and in different kinds of theatre forms. The
programs which are charged may be offered free as incentives to
deserving/needy Playpen members.
• Through Playpen Theatre Lab, make available a regular platform
for exploring, experimenting, and devising with cutting edge ideas,
pushing theatrical conventions to discover new and relevant
meanings to art in contemporary Indian society. Goal 3
Produce quality theatre for our community on a regular, sustainable
basis.
• Chalk out a calendar for a fixed number of full productions per
year that are open to public for a fee.
• Chart out a plan to solicit funds, donations, sponsorships for these
productions without compromising on the artistic integrity of
Playpen.
• Put a plan in place to take Playpen repertoire to different places,
platforms, events, festivals. Goal 4
To support worthy charitable organizations through our work.
• We will give out donations either in cash or in kind.

Reading Part 2 of Agamadambara

“Such a lovely reading session. Thanks for bringing this play to us @⁨Brinda Shankar⁩. It was like reconnecting with a long lost part of our own self. I feel it is helping me ground myself admist the various conflicts sorrounding us.

I hope we can present the play in some form. There will be a lot of takeaways for everybody.

Thank you to the participants who kept up the intensity through some long monologues. I hope you guys had a great time reading as well...” - Aakash Waghmare
