“The Forest Remembers Her Name.”
Stories do not belong to a single voice, but are carried forward by many hands, many minds, across time and language.” Volga.

The theme at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival KGAF 2026 is “Ahead of the Curve.”

Check out the Literature program at the 26th Kala Ghoda Arts Festival.

“When Earth Was A Woman.”
Date: 4th Feb
Venue : DSL Gardens
Time: 7 to 8pm.
Come, listen to women-centred tales.

The theme resonates with our present concerns with ecology and conservation. The stories will speak of the sisterhood between Women and Nature.

The stories have a deeper and very relevant ecological significance as well as concern for woman.

“A Call to Remember” has been curated by Mumbai Storytellers Society for Bound India and will have three wonderful Women Storytellers.
- Dr. Gayathri Sampath mirza.prabhu - Mehak Mirza Prabhu venkatraman - Usha Venkatraman

The concept “The Forest Remembers Her Name” serves as a narrative framework to highlight the crucial and often underestimated role of women in environmental justice movements. It draws upon the legacies of movements, where women stood up to protect their land, water and forests.
Will Earth reclaim her agency?

Every forest has its guardian, and every silence its story.

Thank you brindamiller

One of the missions of Mumbai Storytellers Society is to nurture the art of oral storytelling tradition and support young storytellers in the community.

The Storyfic Showcase 4.0 by Meher Gehi is one such collaboration.

The children enthralled the audience with stories from around the world confidently with expressions and voice modulation. The laughter and joy from both the participants and audience revealed the love for stories and seeds of storytelling were sown!

Thank you
