The performances ended weeks ago. The reactions haven’t.

This is MIST 2026 — Part 2.

For the storytellers, MIST was a platform that let them live inside their art, fully and without holding back. And the stories, in all their kinds, kept the audience glued to their seats, eyes always looking for more.

It’s been a month since MIST but it doesn’t feel like it. The stories stuck around, and somewhere along the way, they became ours too.

As the curtains fell, one feeling still lingers in every heart: we will meet again, with more stories, more storytellers, and more moments to remember.

It has already been a month since MIST, but the memories still linger, finding their way back to us and bringing a little joy each time we revisit them.

Here is a look back at MIST 2026 — Part 1.

For some, MIST was a change in perspective.
For some, it was the perfect start to the day.
Some were transported to a whole new world, while some felt like they were living inside a book.
For some, it was the freshness of dance and movement.
For others, a perfect weekend, a new experience, or even a dream lived alongside an audience.

Different experiences. Different emotions. Different stories.

And perhaps that is the magic of MIST.

You come for the stories,
but leave with one of your own.

Here’s presenting all our storytellers for the evening from all across the country.

Aarti Punjabi | Writer, Storyteller, Voice Artist
डॉ. आरती पंजाबी शिक्षिका, लेखिका, पॉडकास्टर और कहानीकार हैं। वे Gaatha और MIST जैसे मंचों पर कहानी-कथन कर चुकी हैं। उनके पॉडकास्ट ‘कहानी हमारी तुम्हारी’ में वे हिंदी कहानियाँ सुनाती हैं।

श्रद्धा निगवेकर एक पुरस्कार-विजेता कहानीकार और लेखिका हैं, जिन्होंने भारत और विदेशों में कई प्रतिष्ठित साहित्य एवं कहानी महोत्सवों में अपनी प्रस्तुतियाँ दी हैं। वे ‘Kathashtakam Global’ की सह-संस्थापक और FEAST की निदेशक हैं।

*मनीषा भिसे Manisha Bhise | Storyteller and Communication Coach के ज़रिए वे बच्चों को हँसना, हँसाना और कहानियों के ज़रिए स्वयं को समझना सिखाती हैं।उन्हें प्रकृति से प्रेरित कहानियों को STEM के साथ जोड़कर प्रस्तुत करना पसंद है।

विश्वविद्यालय की गोल्ड मेडलिस्ट अर्चना चंदेल Archana Chandel शिक्षा से हेल्थ प्रोफेशनल और अपनी पसंद से कहानीकार हैं। वह LITS Foundation और Books-n-Kids Library की संस्थापक हैं। उन्होंने स्कूलों, संस्थानों और सांस्कृतिक मंचों पर स्टोरीटेलिंग सत्र एवं कार्यशालाएँ आयोजित की हैं। उन्हें कमिशीबाई स्टोरीटेलिंग में विशेष रुचि है।

शिल्पा मेहता, जिन्हें Shilpa Mehta शिल्पा स्टोरी रैक’ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, एक परफॉर्मेंस स्टोरीटेलर और लेखिका हैं। उन्होंने देश-विदेश के विभिन्न प्रतिष्ठित साहित्यिक एवं कहानी-कथन मंचों अपनी कहानियाँ प्रस्तुत की हैं।

Meet the curator of ‘ Hindi Diwas Special’, Shilpa Mehta Shilpa Mehta

Shilpa Mehta, better known as ‘Shilpa Story Rack’ is a performance storyteller and an author who is committed to creating a positive impact and spreading joy through magic of words. She had a professional journeys, panning over two decades in education space, teaching MBA and BBA before transitioning to her inherent love for storytelling.

She has performed at various literary and storytelling events on various national and global platforms for diverse audience. With story and song, she uses her voice to weave a little magic and a lot of love into her stories. Her fictional woven stories, retold folktales have found their way in various anthologies. She has also written academic books for primary children.
She frequently contributes to Talking Stories,East London Radio. She is also a featured storyteller on Obo- story mobile for audio stories. She is the reading champion for storytelling sessions with Pratham Books under the ‘One Day, One Story’ campaign in Jaipur to help inculcate reading habits in students with her read aloud sessions. She facilitates storytelling sessions and workshops for children and adults.

How does an everyday incident become a story?

That simple thought set the tone for a day filled with stories at the storytelling workshop with Rachel Smith, brought together by Mumbai Storytellers Society in collaboration with Kala Labs.

The session began with an interesting warm-up exercise around “Have you ever?”—and soon, the room was filled with memories, moments and stories waiting to be told.

What followed was an active exchange of story plots, individual feedback from the facilitator and a deeper exploration of what truly lies at the heart of a story. Participants shared ideas, shaped their narratives and discovered how an everyday experience could become something worth telling.

And then came the moment of courage.

A few brave participants stepped up to share the stories they had crafted—stories that were personal, unique and truly their own.

Sometimes, all it takes is a story to feel a little more connected. ✨
