Merry Christmas!! A poem on Christmas for Christmas 2024
The Closure of the Claus(e)
Jingle bells Jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Santa's coming to town
Only to tell you
Live it up, you clown
Jingle Bells Jingle Bells
Jingle all the way
He's telling you
Stop feeding off the buzz words
The pressure to slay
The need to play
He's coming for one last time
With no gift this time
For his biggest gift to you is the truth
The truth that he is wholly made up
By imaginations that feed on inadequecy
He's here to tell you
You are the universal gift
You don't need to wait on his goodies
For you are an entity
You are the epitome of plenty
He's here minus Rudolf
The sleigh, the reindeer
To remind you of what's truly dear
He's here to tell you
You're the ultimate santa
Life needs no purpose
No cause
No clause
Simply because
This is how it is
This Christmas
Look in the mirror
You will see Santa
You will find Rudolf
Look harder
Within you will appear the reindeer
Look even harder
You will not find the need to slay
The compulsion of the game you call life, you believe you need to play
As much as we love santa
Let this be his final appearance
For he's played his part
He's made you realise. He is you and you are him
Cos ultimate liberation
Comes.without a claus(e)
It's time to liberate ourselves
Santa anyway was always the epitome of liberation
He never existed
But for you on Christmas he did
He showed up to fulfill your fantasy
And slunk right back into the anonymity of liberation
Let this year be the closure of the claus
Let Santa's magnificence absence remind us that life is simply the experience of liberation
And not an ardous journey of contrived expectations
And then caught up in a cycle
Of a never ending need of fulfillment
