we about the theories
of the universe

and how it all amazes us

from the smallest
but the most spectacular
of occurrences

we try to break them down
and maybe read about them all

we talk about where
humanity is heading,
the path it's treading

we talk about music,
the significance of it

wait, no, we've never agreed
on that bit though

we talk about outfits,
and the shades of the season

but that's mostly me,
and you're on a
listening session

we could call that a podcast too,
trends we get and outfits we should forget

we talk about sentiments,
and maybe, them grown-up
monetary investments

we talk about our
childhood adventures

and the dumb-ass
s**t we pulled off
together

in all of this, what always
amazes me till date though

is this presence of yours,
all through these years
- to juice, on his birthday

the feeling of
being unheard

you don't know it,
do you?

how it eats you up
tears your insides

the feeling of
being cut off

how it leaves you
without any hope
like you're, hanging
onto a thin rope

that feeling,
when you're hurting
really, really bad

and there's not a single
soul to turn to?

it's a sickening feeling
right in your gut
you want to twist and turn
and the world stands still
watching you burn

oppressed, murdered,
molested and defiled

this, shouldn't be
the everyday dealings
of any woman, or child

while the world
came together
in heaps and bounds
for an empty building
that burnt down

this same world,
isn't showing up,
and has let
Sudan down
many of us can't really get in the real and help out. many of us, don't have the resources to give in. a lot more of us also think what's a profile picture gonna do, and what's in a shade of blue... but if these small gestures help any any way, please, please act on it.

places you want to reach
and relationships
you want to keep

ease into every phase
settle

and while you're
at it, feel

feel for relationships

feel every emotion

human

and sensitive

set of guidelines
no learnings
from the past

thing with
the human heart is

that it's expectations
and way of dealing
with emotions
is always
changing

but the fact that
there's a lifelessness

the nights

and it's only poetic

that the winter breeze
that once pushed you
close to me
now pierces through
every inch of skin

it's winter break,
and i'm here with you
and you, with me

for i have you,
in all of me
in layers, in aromas,
in things you touch,
in everything you hold dear
and clutch
in every sense, in my skin,
in everything from thick to thin

it's winter break,
and it's only poetic

that the sun's
golden embers
aren't as magical
as they were
when we were

and the morning flowers
have seemed to have lost
their powers

sometimes, it's the way
the droplets stay still
on petals

sometimes, it's the aroma
of the moonlit lillies
when i walk through
my lane

and at times
it's also the
sound of the first
note from "Valerie"

it shows me,
oh wait,
more like,
reminds me
of how,
all of that is
actually real
here, now,
today
and it will be so,
tomorrow too

it occurs to me sometimes,
as random at times,
as a gush of wind,
gifting me some dried,
some fresh leaves
out or nowhere

and sometimes,
it's in the detailed
talks we'd have
of breaking down
one scene
of that one movie
and the outfits
of the actors
in that scene

and then
there's those
walks,
with
those
kinda heavy,
but 'they matter' talks

ones that some avoid,
and ones that some
rejoice

you know?
these are the kind of nights
that just feel
right

and you end,
when you begin

sometimes you learn,
and for some things,
you yearn

you smile, laugh
and of course
hurt

after all,
it is from all that,
that you grow

realities settle in
rather quickly

goals, increase
people, decrease

and in all this,
i think, the most beautiful
of moments
you will come across

is when you
find your own rhythm,
your own symphony

after all,
does growth have
to be quantified?
