| Born in 1879, Lady Meherbai Tata won over 60 prizes in tennis tournaments and became the first Indian woman drawn to play tennis in Olympics - mixed doubles at the 1924 Paris Games! 🔥

She played all her tennis matches in a Parsi saree to display her pride in her culture. Lady Tata was also an expert horse rider and a vocal advocate for women's rights.

Beautiful cultures. The way they have blended with nature is impressive.

The Khasi matrilinear tribe who have been living in the forests of this region for ages are being destroyed in the name of development by government policies that have total disregard for ecology or culture. Unfortunately, the government of India is exploring faster ways to exploit and convert all the beautiful natural and cultural wealth of North east India. This beautiful culture must be preserved. They are one of many indigenous examples of ways to live sanely and sustainably.
