Being a studio guy who is used to over dubbing and doing 1 thing at a time, today I came across a different session. who has been doing podcasts with me on and off came today with his children to record a cover live on the guitar. After the inital discussions & setup we got recording and its been such a fun experience. Apart from my trustrowthy microphones, I put my new hand held dynamic microphone to use and it sounded great. I was recording 3 microphones live together and even though i was worried about bleed, I managed to capture great performances. The song felt more natural and everyone was in synchronization. Using the automatic tempo in logic made things so much easier than sticking to one beat. Looking forward to more sessions like these where i also get to learn something new.
