Momin Khan, is one of few artists today in India, who has fully devoted himself to the Sarangi and is a renowned youth icon of national and international repute. Momin is a valued member of Arijit Singh’s band, has given solo performances all over the world, and has already started his innings in Bollywood – has played for: Dabang 3, Gangubai and Heeramandi and an upcoming movie: Abhyan. Momin has

to his credit the honor of working with big banners such as Yashraj Films and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions. Momin has worked with fusion music too and has accompanied the Father of India’s Jazz, Louiz Banks. Momin has also had the privilege of accompanying maestros such as Ustad Tafiq Qureshi, Pt. Satyajit Talwarkar, Ravi Chary, Ustad Fazal Qurshi, Gino Banks Sonu Nigam, Vishal Mishra, Shilpa Rao, Neha Kakkar, Javed ali, Shreya Ghoshal, and more. Momin was born on Nov. 22, 1998 into a family of musicians dating back eight generations. He grew up in a Haveli where the sound of the tabla, sitar, sarangi, and other instruments, echoed throughout the day. As long as Momin can remember, the sound of the Sarangi was his "lullaby" (lori). At age six Momin began pleading with his father to teach him the Sarangi. His desire was so great that one night, refusing to eat, he stayed up until 2:30am waiting for his father's return so he could start learning the instrument
Momin has completed BA in Classical Music (vocal) and Sarangi and graduated from the Bhatt Khande Music High School, Lucknow. When Momin was eight his father encouraged him to play at the family's musical gatherings. At age 10 he won the first prize at the Mahindra Bhat Music Festival, a statewide competition held in Rajasthan. Since then, there has been no looking back. Momin is the recipient of the Music Scholarship granted by The Sanskriti Mantralaya (Department of Culture, Government of India), has performed on Jaipur Doordarshan, stood first in the Akashwani Sangeet Pratiyogita, organized by All India Radio in March 2017 and many more. In Feb. 2018 Momin stood first and won the Gold Medal at the 33rd National Youth Festival, Ranchi. In Jan. 2019, Momin was awarded the Rajasthan State Government Award by the hands of the Hon. Governor of Rajasthan. At the young age of 14, Momin was gaining a national reputation and was selected to give a solo performance on the All India Radio National Channel, New Delhi. Given that Momin considers his father his biggest inspiration, role model and mentor, it was a dream come true when he was asked to give a joint performance with him at the Baba Hari Vallabh musical concert in Jallandhar in 2015. Padmashree Ustad Moinuddin Khan, Momin's father and guru, is the only master Sarangi player who was conferred with the "Padmashri" by the then President Hon’ble Shri Pranab Mukherjee on behalf of the Government of India. Momin spends around 6-7 hours each day doing riyaz (practice) under the watchful eye of his father cm guru. Padmashree Ustad Moinuddin Khan is the son and disciple of the very renowned Lt. Sarangi Samrath Ustad Mehboob Khan Sahab. At 22, Momin is the youngest Sarangi player to have received such recognition and success. He is all set to take his family tradition - the Sarangi to the next level and is on the path to become an artist par excellence, soar greater heights and mesmerize his audience by his talent

Ye ghazal maine pichhle hafte hi dhyaan se sunni shuru ki, aur pehli hi baar mein dil ko chhoo gayi. Phir laga ki isse gaane ki ek chhoti si koshish karni chahiye.

“Kar raha tha gham-e-jahaan ka hisaab, aaj tum yaad be-hisaab aaye” — kitna khoobsurat khayal hai.

Ye laajawaab ghazal Mehdi Hassan Khan Saab ki hai. Unhe jab bhi sunta hoon, suron, ka ehsaas aur adaayegi ke baare mein kuch naya seekhne ko milta hai. Ye unhi ke fun ko ek chhota sa salaam hai. 🎙️✨

Some concerts stay with you forever.
There’s always something new to learn and experience every time you perform. This second visit to Kerala was pure joy, and I loved every bit of it. This definitely won’t be my last time here!

Sharing my deeply rooted craft in the presence of the Honourable President and Prime Minister of India, alongside the President of South Korea, Lee Jae-myung, at the very venue where my father was once honoured with the Padma Shri.
A full-circle moment, and a beautiful reminder that music transcends generations, borders, and time. ✨🎶

Deeply grateful to share this moment alongside Avijit on flute and Zaheen on tabla. 🙏🏽

Happy Birthday, bhaiya! Blessed to know and play music with you in this life. It’s truly an honour 🤍🙏🏻
