As a visionary Gaffer and our founder, Mulchand has inspired generations with his innovative spirit, exceptional craftsmanship, and dedication to excellence.
His iconic designs, like the ‘Wendy Light’ created for the film ‘Holy Smoke’ 27 years ago, continue to influence the industry.
“Sharing a piece of his legacy as a Gaffer! he designed the iconic ‘Wendy Light’ for the film ‘Holy Smoke’ (1999). This custom lighting setup was a game-changer, offering versatility and precision.
The Wendy Light family includes:
- Half Wendy: 96 bulbs
- Full Wendy: 192 bulbs
- Quarter Wendy: 56 bulbs (optimized for equal load on each phase)
To adapt to India’s 230/240V power supply, he wired the 110V/650W bulbs in series of two.
He also created strip lights using 4/8/12 bulbs, perfect for bouncing light off large rigs or rigging behind columns on location or sets.
As a Gaffer, he believes that hands-on experience and experimentation are key. Helps to learn and innovate
