Jordans x Nizams of Hyderabad: During the final years of the Nizam’s rule Hyderabad was considered of the wealthiest Princely States of India. The last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan was once the 7th richest man in the world and was also seen on the cover of TIMES magazine. Legend has it, the Nizam used to use a fist sized diamond as a paperweight.😄💎

Here’s an AI rendition of Sneakers if they were designed during the Nizam’s times. A tribute to the land of pearls and diamonds.

Jordans x Cholas: sneaker design inspired by the glorious Chola Dynasty of Southern India. Considered one of the longest ruling dynasties of the world, the Cholas championed India’s golden age with their contribution to art, architecture and maritime exploration, spreading Indian influence across S.E Asia. These concept sneakers were designed with the help of Midjourney A.I to emulate the intricately detailed sculptures and architectural designs of the Cholas.

Jordans x Marathas: the Peshwa. Carrying forward my experiments with AI and Sneaker design, I used Midjourney AI to depict an Air Jordan inspired by the Mighty Maratha stalwart Peshwa Bajirao. The Maratha period has been immortalised in my mind by the incredible sets, costumes and jewellery designs from the epic Bajirao Mastani which I used as cues for this design.

I am limited in my knowledge of the Maratha empire so forgive me if I have misinterpreted anything. The designs here are purely conceptual and exist only Virtually. 😅 I sadly have to turn down your “price” requests until I’m able to bring them to life in physical form.

I’m almost coming towards the end of this series on the Mughal dynasty. Thank you so much for the overwhelming response to these whimsical experiments. This started as a fun experiment with AI where I tried to merge my passion for History, storytelling and sneaker design to create virtual artefacts that celebrate the rich history and artistic traditions of the Indian subcontinent. A huge thank you to everyone who liked, shared and left supportive comments for this series.

Air Jordans x Mughal Dynasty| Rangeela: Though not as famous as his ancestors, Mohammad Shah a.k.a Rangeela is an interesting character nonetheless. Flamboyant, colourful and a patron of the arts, Mohammad Shah’s pen name was Sadā Rangeela (forever colourful). It was during his reign, Nader Shah the Persian invader looted and plundered Delhi taking with him the Peacock Throne and the Koh-I-Noor.

This pair of sneakers are a reflection of the vibrant & colourful nature of the ruler, sitting atop the ruins and debris of the Persian invasion.

Air Jordans x Mughal Dynasty | Shahjahan: I asked Midjourney AI to design a sneaker befitting of the opulence and grandeur of the Mughal Emperor known for his love of design, art and architecture. I have to say I’m pretty impressed by the output. Golden sari embroidery embellished with rose motifs, a flower often seen in the portraits of Shahjahan, perfectly capture the aesthete emperor.

Sincere apologies to all my followers who followed me for art and sneaker designs and ask they get from me these days are random reels 😛😅

Here’s sharing something I had a lot of fun working on for . We paid tribute to the glorious 100 years of the Hindi film industry through a series of illustrated posters ; one for each decade since our independence. I picked the Golden 50s, the era of Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar. The era of mesmerising melodies and poetic storytelling. The era of Madhubala and Nargis as they lit up the silver screens with their enigmatic performances. The movies from 50s transport us to an era both simple and complex at the same time. On one end we see hope for a new nation on another we see the struggles and hardships of newborn nation.

Huge thanks to & for this opportunity. Hope I did Justice to that era.

Air Jordans x Thimphu: Back after a short hiatus. Caught a terrible case of viral fever, was unable to work or draw for the past whole week. This was the best way for me to get back into designing again and warming up my engines. 😄

I visited the beauty kingdom of Bhutan in 2019 during the Puja break and I instantly captivated by these traditional shoes that the Bhutanese men were wearing. Traditionally called Tsolgam, they were the perfect amalgamation of traditional designs with contemporary footwear design. One of the fascinating and rare things about Bhutan is also that it is one of the only countries in the subcontinent which never got colonised, so a lot of their cultural wear naturally evolved with the times so their traditional wear is also part of their everyday wear without looking too forced or museumised. Some time ago, French luxury footwear designer Christian Louboutin also made a series of footwear inspired by the Tsolgam.

This is my take on the Tsolgam. Swipe right to see what they look like.

Air Jordan x Fontainhas

A tribute to The old latin quarter, commonly known as Fontainhas, with its bright colourful walls, intricate painted tiles and hidden lanes with cute cafés make it my absolute favourite part of Goa.

P.S: Thanks for all the love shown towards this series. Fyi this is not a real collaboration with Nike. These are just hypothetical concepts that I’m making for fun 😅 sorry to disappoint all of you asking me where you can but these 😅

Let me know which city to do next in the comments.

Air Jordan x Guwahati

A lot of you asked me to do this and it was only fair to do my own city along with the rest. These sneakers borrow inspiration from the rich use of cane/bamboo webbing and golden muga silk in the region. The golden-red colour pallet is something which can be seen all over the region during the festive seasons.

Now that Emuthi Puthi is out and running successfully across the state, thought I’d share some character designs I made for the movie.

These were created for a mystical character which we discover as we progress through the movie. Will reveal more about the process in the coming days. Don’t want to give out any spoilers 🤫😊

The character brought back memories from our folklores and fables. I initially based the character on the amazing Adil Hussain. Can you see the resemblance? 😄

This was overall a really exciting experience getting to create designs for such a unique Assamese film. Big thanks to for taking such unique stories which allow us designers and artists bring out our vision onto the silver screen for our own community. This is really special. 😇🐟
