Dear Ghazal Singers & Ghazal Lovers...Check out the av clip of Jagjit Ji singing with Tanpura which was shot without his knowledge..We are pleased to invite AV entries of young singers below 30 years of age singing any Ghazal of Jagjit Ji with Tanpura. The selected talents will be invited to sing in Mumbai on 7th Feb 2016 in Jagjit Singh Music Festival (JSMF).

Janab Nida Fazli -
Muqtida Hasan Nida Fazli, is an eminent Urdu poet and lyricist. His poetry is often described as lacking in any singular identity thereby defying neat categorizations.
His poetry reflects the checkered trajectories of a poet who "traveled in many directions",uses both village and urban landscapes to explore nature and human relations.

Smt Chitra Singh -
Smt Chitra Singh an emminet singer and also the wife of the late Jagjit Singh ji will be one of the members of the selection panel. She is also the Chairperson of the Jagjit Singh Foundation, under the aegis of which this Music Festival is celebrated.

Shri Suresh Wadkar -
Shri Suresh Wadkar is one of the most renowned Singers of the Classical Music fraternity as well as the Indian Film Industry with thousands of songs to his credit. He is also the Managing Trustee of the Music School ‘Ajivasan’. Each year more than 500 students learn music at this 84 year old institution.With a long and a glorious career spanning more than 40 years Shri Suresh Wadkar still continues to mesmerize his audience with his melodious and soulful voice.

Shri Roopkumak Rathod -
Shri Roopkumar Rathod born in the family of musicians hailing from Rajasthan continues the tradition steeped deep into marvels of Indian Classical Music. He has leant his voice to many compositions in the industry. Roopji has also launched many Ghazal albums. He has also accomplished a lot in the field of Sufi music.

Dear Ghazal Lovers...

Jagjit Singh Foundation is proud to announce the Jagjit Singh Music Festival, an annual celebration in memory of Ghazal Maestro Shri Jagjit Singh. This year we are
celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of Ghazal Maestro Legendary Padma Bhushan Shri Jagjit Singh. The occasion will feature a two day Music Festival being held in Mumbai..

Day 1: 7th Feb 2016:

The young talents below 30 years of age are invited to send in their video clips to us. An eminent panel of judges will select 25 young Ghazal Singers who shall be showcased on the first day at Ajivasan Hall, Mumbai. The day long concert will begin at 11 am & will feature 75 Ghazals of Shri Jagjit Singh ji sung by the invited young artists in three different sessions to celebrate the timeless music of the Golden Voice of Ghazals. Invitation to this concert is complimentary to all Ghazal Listeners & Music fans.

Day 2: 8th Feb 2016:

The second day of the festival also happens to be 75th Birth day of Maestro Shri Jagjit Singh Ji. The concert on this day will feature Living Legends Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt Birju Maharaj, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Shri Hariharan, Shri Suresh Wadkar, Shri Deepak Pandit, Shri Ranjit Barot & many luminaries from the field of Art & Music.
Venue will be Shanmukhanand Hall , Mumbai. This would be a public ticketed event.
