"A Sound of Nat" recounts the remarkable journey of individuals known as Rope Walkers, Jugglers, Circus Wallas, Street Circus performers, or by the name "Nat Kaa Khel" in India. The term "Nat" originates from Sanskrit and signifies a dancer. In the traditional context, Nats were entertainers and jugglers. However, in India, they lack a fixed title, and people refer to them using various names such as Nat, Nat ka khel Karne wala, Street Circus artists, or khelaa karne wala. This diversity arises because their groups or families do not have a permanent location for their performances. Instead, they travel to different places and conduct shows on open streets, earning them the moniker "Street Circus people." These individuals hail from different states and typically reside in chawls or makeshift huts, relying on street performances for their daily livelihood and survival.
