Trimbakeshwar is a place filled with thousands of miniature sculptures on its doors and walls. I chose to paint just one of them. One statue became a massive canvas. I recreated every pore, crack, and shadow with incredible detail.
When you stand in front of it, it doesn’t look like paint. It looks like stone. You feel like you could reach out and touch the texture beneath your fingers.
People who saw it couldn’t believe it was painted by hand. Some wanted to buy it, and many just stood there, silent, observing, and absorbing.
For me, it wasn’t about creating another artwork. It was about testing how far I can push realism and how deep I can go before art stops looking like art.
