1957 *Lalit Shah started his stage carrier as a child artist (at the age of 13) in “Zer Na
Parkha” in Rangmanch, Ghatkopar.
1960 to 1972 *Worked with Gujarati Theater as Production Manager – Actor – Director with almost
All theater groups namely Rangmanch, Rang Bhoomi, INT, Neela Theaters, Natya
Sampada & Parsi Theater etc.
1969 *Won Best Supporting Actor Award in One-Act Competition judged by Madhukar
Randeria.
1972 *Married Bhairavi Shah, heroine of the play “Prapanch”. The play was produced and directed by Lalit Shah & written by Pravin Solanki. In the same year he started his own business and established an industry under the
Banner of “COPWUD”
1979 *He started production house ‘Antarang’ and produced plays ‘Mahasagar’, ‘Rashmi
Tejab’ & ‘Short-cut’. He worked with Dr. Ranjit Atha, Vishnukumar Vyas, Upendra
Trivedi, Prabodh Joshi, Kanti Madia, Pravin Joshi, Jagdish Shah, Madhukar Randeria,
Tarak Mehta, Jayanti Patel, Pravin Solanki, Arvind Tahkkar & Sailesh Dave.
1979 *Introduced Quartz Technology in Horology Industries in collaboration with Hen Hart
-Germany. (Brand: Copwud),

Delhi, Hon. Vice Chairman, All India Watch & Clock Fair, Samaya Bharati – Mumbai.
1981 to 2005 He as a Vice President of ALL INDIA ELE, WATCH & CLOCK ASSOCIATION handled the
Most prestigious “SAMAY BHARATI” – an International Exhibition of Watches &
Clocks showcasing Indian & International makers in various parts of India. The
exhibition “SAMAY BHARATI” is held every 2 years, hence he headed such 13
exhibitions successfully with TRADE POST editor MR. Mihir Kharod who is organizer of
the exhibition.
1985 *He revived One-Act Drama Competition ICDC (Inter Golegiate Drama Competition)
of Bhavan Kala Kendra by providing Rs. 11/- Lacs. The competition resumed after a
lapse of 20 years & became famous as “COPWUD ONE-ACT DRAMA COMPETITION”
(in 6 languages) and continued till the year 2000..
1987-1989 *He organized 2 Sugam Sangeet Swarkar Sammelan where in known & unknown
composers from Mumbai & Gujarat took part.
1987-2003 *Founded ‘Music Arts Foundation’ in 1991 and organized 130 programs during the
period.
2003 *After retirement, under the guidance of Dr. M.L. Shrikant (Chairman – Bhavan’s
Campus, Andheri) started Bhavan’s Cultural Centre, Andheri and actively organized
approximately 200 programs a year without any bias of cast, creed, religion or
language. Presently BCCA is cultural hub of Mumbai’s suburbs.
2006 He started Full Length Gujarati Drama Competition sponsored by CHITRALEKAHA FOR
ALL DRAMA LOVERS OF Gujarati language. This Drama Competition was revived after
35 years with his efforts.. It was earlier organized by the then Bombay State.
2007 - 2010 * Introduced Extra Curricular Activities on 24 Saturdays of a year for the students of
Bhavan’s A. Wadia High School.
* Celebrated Vanmahotsav on the Campus by organizing planting of 100 trees.
* Developed ‘Sardar Patel Sabhagriha’ – 600 seat open-air theater in SPCE
Quadrangle.
* Developed “Pranganga Amphitheater’ on a natural lake in Bhavan’s Campus,
Andheri.
* Developed ‘BCCA’ – multipurpose AC Hall on the Bhavan’s Campus Andheri.
2011 *Set up Bhavan’s Nature & Adventure Centre (BNAC) at Bhavan’s Campus, Andheri
Along with Himanshu Prem Joshi. BNAC is an official partner of United Nations Decade
on Biodiversity.
2012 His book of poems “GEET –LALIT” and Music Album based on “GEET –LALIT” were

2013 On 13th January 2013 received an honour of “GHAR DIVDA” from Umang Prakashan.
2021 * Presently - administrator of BCCA & head of various Campus activities including
BNAC. His activities have been lauded and appreciated by Hon. Governor, Shri Vajubhaiwala
(Karnatka), Sargam Club (Rajkot), Kala Samput (Ahmedabad), , Gujarati Rangkarmi
Asociation (Ahmedabad), Rajkot Watch Trade Association, Consulate Gen. of
Republic of Indonesia (Mumbai), Armature Rattiest Association (Mumbai), Umang
Ghardiwada Award (Mumbai), Bhavan’s Public School ( (Amritsar), Bharatiya Vidya
