आर्ट प्लाजा आंदोलन 1988 में शुरू हुआ लेकिन 1990 में श्री के प्रयासों से आधिकारिक रूप से पंजीकृत हो गया। केएम शेनॉय और एसएस तिनिकर (पूर्व मुंबई नगर आयुक्त) की मदद से।

प्लाजा आर्टिस्ट एसोसिएशन का मुख्य उद्देश्य आने वाले कलाकारों को मुंबई नगर निगम में आर्ट प्लाजा गैलरी में अपनी कला प्रदर्शित करने का अवसर देना है, जहांगीर आर्ट गैलरी के बाहर काला घोड़ा के पास खुले क्षेत्र में घूमना है।

यह नए और संघर्षरत कलाकारों के साथ-साथ कला प्रेमियों और कला संग्रहकर्ताओं को सीधे उस कलाकार से पेंटिंग खरीदने में मदद करेगा जो अभी भी चल रहा है।
