Srot Se Sangam | A Journey of Voices, Traditions and Transformation
From 6th to 11th September 2025, Srot Se Sangam became a journey of listening along the Bhilangana River, from Gangi to Ghansali through the mountains, villages, memories and changing realities of Tehri Garhwal.
Organised by Mount Valley Development Association (MVDA), this padyatra documented how climate change, migration, declining agriculture, drying rivers, plastic pollution, health challenges and changing social relationships are reshaping Himalayan life.
Through conversations with farmers, women, traditional healers, researchers, students, village elders, and community workers, the film captures a region in transition. Potatoes are failing. Snowfall is reducing. Forest knowledge is fading. Rivers are changing. Villages are emptying. Yet, people continue to hold on to songs, seeds, memories, rituals, and their deep relationship with land and water.
This film, made by Opia Films is not only a record of problems, but also a journey of listening to communities who understand the Himalayas not through reports alone, but through lived experience.
A film on ecology, culture, memory and resilience in the Bhilangana Valley.
