Maa Kushmanda is also called Ashtabhuja Devi, meaning the goddess with eight arms. Her hands carry divine objects such as a chakra, mace, bow, arrow, lotus, and kamandalu, along with a rosary and other sacred symbols in traditional depictions.
Each symbol represents divine power, wisdom, protection, and spiritual awakening. She rides a lion, symbolising courage and fearlessness. Her radiant form represents the life-giving energy that sustains the universe.
It is also believed in Hindu devotional tradition that Maa Kushmanda resides in the core of the Sun, guiding its brilliance and supplying energy to all living beings.
