ਪੱਟੀ/ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ, 8 ਜੂਨ: ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕਾ ਖੇਮਕਰਨ ਅਧੀਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਠੱਠਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਗਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨਹਿਰੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਠੇਕੇਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਲਾਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਕੰਕਰੀਟ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸੂਏ (Water Channel) ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਹਿਕਮੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਹੀ ਵਹਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੂਏ ਦੀ ਠੋਕਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ 10 ਤੋਂ 15 ਫੁੱਟ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਾੜ (Breach) ਪੈ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪਾੜ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਹਿਰੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੀੜਤ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ 10 ਤੋਂ 15 ਏਕੜ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਲ-ਥਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਅਚਾਨਕ ਆਏ ਇਸ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਹਾਕਾਰ ਮਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਮੰਦਭਾਗੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪੀੜਤ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਟਵਾਰੀ, ਗੁਰਭੇਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸੂਆ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਕਰੀਟ ਨਾਲ ਨਵਾਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
